HADES PATH: EPISODE 11

We gather up the wounded Agents, helping everyone to their feet and escorting them back to HQ.
Cyprin meets us at the doors.

Cyprin: "What on earth happened out there? I was about to send a team after you."
Hades: "No need. There was a titan attack, but I managed to stop him. He left without causing any lasting damage to your agents."
Cyprin: "Still, the fact that he made it here at all is alarming. The mortal world is proving no more safe than Olympus."
Player Character: "Did your agents report anything about the gate? How it was opened before? How we can open it now?"

Grimacing, Cyprin waves me into their office, shutting the door and locking it behind us.

Cyprin: "The agent who warned us about the attack did manage to save some of their data samples. What we found is... worrying."

Handing over a file to each of us, Cyprin leans against their desk and sighs.
I rifle through it quickly, soaking it all in.

PC: "Titan blood was used to open the gate?"

A tight grip on my shoulder makes me look up. Hades is solemn, eyes dark.

Hades: "Not just any titan. It's Cronus' blood."

He lets me go to sit down, a grim set on his solid, square jaw.

Hades: "The one we imprisoned long ago. The father of all titans."

And quieter, he looks aside, out the window to the city scape of New York.

Hades: "And my father, as well. This makes just enough sense to work."

I put the dots together myself.

PC: "His blood is where both of your powers comes from. So just that drop of it was enough to open the gate!"

I remember Astraeus' smug face, feeling myself burn up with anger.

PC: "And since they can travel from Tartarus to Olympus without a gate, they have access to as much of his blood as they need."
Hades: "We may need to move faster than expected."

Cyprin shakes their head.

Cyprin: "Getting from the divine realm to Earth with nothing but a swab of blood?"
Hades: "They might be preparing to invade us next as we speak."

Cyprin picks up a cell phone, rapidly dialing a new number.

Cyprin: "I thought we had more time. Thought they were at the same disadvantage as us. This changes everything."
Hades: "Yes, but not all for the worse. We might still be able to spin this in our favor."
Cyprin: "How?"
Hades: "The subway tunnel. It's not as damaged as the one in the Agency. When it was first destroyed, it was with the idea that one day we might need it again."

A light of understanding flickers in Cyprin's eyes.

Cyprin: "So we fix the subway gate and send a god to Olympus."
PC: "It has to be a god?"
Hades: "Only an olympian could open up the Agency's portal the way it is now."
Cyprin: "And that can only be done from Olympus."
Hades: "Since I'm the only god mobile, that means me."
Cyprin: "That it does. Now, let's move."

The receiver picks up; immediately explaining the situation, Cyprin begins mobilizing agents as Hades and I quickly take our leave.
